New
Look Cambridgeshire Libraries!
The purpose built new March Library was opened in August 2000.it
replaces a building which was not easily accessible on foot
from the town. The partners in the project were the Isle of
Ely College and the Registrars office. It was built with the
help of money from the European Regional Development Fund.
The new library occupies a central site and the building is
shared with the local Registrars office that is manned part-time.
The library serves the town of March and a number of smaller
communities nearby. The issue figures for the library have
quadrupled since the opening of the new building.
Facilities in the new building include a Learning Centre with
a learning facilitator on site, a semienclosed Children's
area with 2 designated terminals, study area, part-time office
of the Cambridgeshire Careers Guidance and a meetings room
which can be used for weddings as well.
